UXPA conferences are made possible through the efforts of people who care about promoting user experience - and your contribution can help make the UXPA 2014 conference in London the leading forum for the exchange of ideas among UX practitioners.
Onsite conference volunteers must be available throughout the entire conference, 21- 24 July, 2014 and contribute 18-21 hours of service during that time. The success of volunteers in the past is based on communication, so attendance is mandatory at volunteer meetings during the conference.

Do I qualify as an Onsite Conference Volunteer?

- You must be a UXPA International member
- Full-time college or graduate students, including Spring 2014 graduates
- Part-time students enrolled in a degree or certificate program
- Unemployed or under-employed individuals
- Employed Individuals attending the conference at their own expense

How much does it cost to be an Onsite Conference Volunteer?
All onsite volunteers must be UXPA International members. You will initially be charged the reduced student member registration fee as follows:
Park Plaza guests will receive complimentary breakfast as part of their discounted nightly room rate. Tea/Coffee will be served throughout most of the day, and Lunches are included. Evening meals will be on your own. Appetizers will be available at Tuesday & Thursday evening receptions.
Upon the completion of your conference duties, you will receive a refund effectively reducing your total cost of the conference to £66.
Refunds will be issued approximately 4-6 weeks after the conference.

Does UXPA cover travel and lodging for Onsite Conference Volunteers?
No, unfortunately, UXPA cannot sponsor travel or lodging for conference volunteers. We encourage you to share rooms at the conference hotel, and will help you find a roommate, if needed. Also, we are looking into local hostels and lodging hosts as potential alternatives to the conference lodging. How many Onsite Conference Volunteers are needed? We will need at least 25 volunteers. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to full-time students. If the available volunteer opportunities have been filled, your name will be placed on the wait-list. How do I sign up to be an Onsite Conference Volunteer? If you are interested in volunteering for the UXPA 2014 Conference in London, please complete the online application. Your information will be reviewed along with other applicants. The first wave of volunteer decisions will be made and communicated in March 2014. Depending on the number of available volunteer positions, additional application reviews/decisions will be made in the subsequent weeks before the conference. * All attendance fees are stated net of any taxes that may be due. UXPA is required to charge UK VAT to all attendees. Therefore, 20% UK VAT will be added at the check out in addition to the net attendance fees stated and will be payable to UXPA at the same time. If you are a business attendee, you may be eligible to obtain a refund of this VAT from the UK government by submitting a valid claim under the 13th Directive (non EU business attendees) , under the Refund Directive (EU business attendee not VAT registered in the UK) , or via a local VAT return if your company is VAT registered in the UK, within the statutory deadline.
