However you say it, that's our theme for 2014. In our profession, as in life, it's often beneficial to step back and consider why. Why do customers use the products we work so hard to perfect? Why do (internal or external) clients ask for our expertise? Why do we give it? Why do we do it so freely and with so much enthusiasm? From the littlest design problem to the biggest professional conundrums, uncovering true motivation is critical to achieving the right solution. Join us in 2014 as we consider:

Latest newsPreliminary program announced.
After much deliberation and great effort, we've whittled the 365 submissions down to just over 90 sessions to create your UXPA 2014 conference program. Check it out, get funding, and book your room at the Park Plaza! Submissions are now closed.
We received 365 submissions - one for every day of the year! And we wish we had a full year to share them all with you. Alas, we have just 4 days of conference events, and the reviewers and committee will be doing the hard work over the next several weeks of choosing only the most compelling submissions for inclusion in the conference program. Peer reviews begin on 07 February, and submitters will be notified of the status of their submissions in mid- to late March. Submissions are open!
We're thrilled to open submissions for this year's conference! Get a quick overview, then be sure to take a look at this year's submission topics and submission types. Read some successful sample submissions from 2013. If you can, sit in on or listen to a recorded virtual roundtable to learn more about the process. When you're ready, go ahead to the submission site to get started. Submissions close at midnight, Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time, on 31 January. To ensure adequate time for quality reviews, this deadline will not be extended. Virtual roundtables
Dates have been announced for this series of discussions to answer your questions about the submission and review process, brainstorm ideas and improvements for people who might be stuck, and to help you find collaborators, co-presenters, English as a Second Language assistance, and proofreaders. The first is 19 December. See the full schedule. Discounted accommodation
The conference will be held 21-24 July, 2014, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. UXPA's discounted room block is now accepting reservations! When will submissions open? They're open now! Read more about submissions. |
